The "Savanne Rally » is organized by the Suriname Automotive Rally Klub (SARK) almost every year since the 1970's, at the beginning of the month of November. The first two editions had Cayenne as the city of departure. This race today brings together a hundred crew, including many competitors from abroad : West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Holland, Brazil, Argentina and French Guiana. This event has a major impact in the country and is covered by the television channels.
